How to write an AC installation estimate

A mini-split installation has many variables: line set length, height, condensate drain routing, whether a dedicated circuit is needed. If they're not in the estimate, they show up as surprises on installation day.

Maintenance: another estimate, a returning client

Cleaning and maintenance visits are a good way to see the client every year. Keeping a saved template lets you send that estimate in a minute.

Example: 12,000 BTU mini-split installation

Sample prices: adjust them to your area and your costs.

Frequently asked questions

Should I include the price of the unit?

If you sell it, list it separately under Equipment so the client can compare. If the client buys it, say so in the notes.

How do I quote extra line set?

State how much line set the standard installation includes and a price per additional foot or meter. That way the estimate stays valid even if the distance changes a little.
